When I check reviews for things like anime or video games, even if they have really high ratings, I like to skim some of the negative ones too. A lot of the time they’re just people complaining about tiny stuff or being picky, but sometimes they actually bring up fair points.

I think people can be hesitant to point out obvious flaws in really popular stuff because it gets so much praise. They don’t want to come off as contrarians or have fans brush them off like they’re just trolling.
